Story Premise

Think “Sam Spade” set in space. Even back-water planets need their own versions of gum-shoe detectives to deal with every-day problems. For twenty years, Asa Dymond has been a private investigator for private matters on Dust, an insignificant planet in the Galactic Alliance realm. However, there is more Jason Borne than Sam Spade in Dymond’s checkered past, as he comes to realize.

Story Synposis

After being brutally attacked by a “quad” (a four-armed insect-like humanoid creature) in the employment of a mysterious woman wearing ultra bright red lipstick, Dymond is on the hunt for answers. Dymond’s past come back to haunt him as ancient artifacts/treasures are uncovered to be the keys to the action. Murders, beatings, and red herrings push Dymond into scenarios that threaten his life and the lives of his friends.

Story Twist

For the past twenty Galactic years, Asa Dymond has made a living as a hard-boiled, gum-shoe PI helping down-on-their-luck citizens on Dust, a backwater Galactic Alliance planet. In his line of work, someone always seems to be gunning for him. However, when a mysterious woman unexpectedly is linked his brutal beat down by a Quad, Asa is forced to consider the motivation might be found in his distant past, where he has no memories. In Asa’s quest to find the truth, he uncovers those memories had been surgically and deliberately blocked. When abruptly restored, Asa’s missing past catches up with him and events spiral out of control forcing Asa to run for his life across three planets.

Dymond’s memory is faulty. He believes his memory loss is the result of a long-ago military injury. That’s only the surface story. Dymond’s brush with the past dredges up a few memory fragments that take him down a path he did not expect. He is not as insignificant as he thinks.
